Solving Your Personal Technician Shortage

For almost 30 years the collision repair industry, like many other trades, has been struggling with a shortage of qualified staff.  The problem has reached crisis levels and solving the problem requires a complete rethink of our hiring, recruiting, and retention best practices. In this session we will look at the factors driving the human resource shortage and how owners and managers can best address those factors to create a more stable and effective workforce.  We will discuss the concepts of how industry changes have affected staffing models and employee retention and what collision center leadership can do to stay ahead of the staffing curve.  Participants will be lead through exercises on staff evaluation, succession planning, development planning, and recruiting using tools and techniques they can apply in their own shops.
